Founded in 2017 by Gareth Howells, Hunsnet is the home of loud, proud Hun culture - celebrating the unforgettable pop culture, celebrity moments and nostalgia that shaped a generation.
What started as a meme page has evolved into a 250,000+ strong digital and real-world community, spanning social content, podcasts, merchandise, live events and, most recently, Hunsnet’s debut book: The Hundamental Guide to Life: Learn to Live, Laugh & Love Like a True Hun.
At the heart of Hunsnet is Gareth’s obsession with the culture. From his childhood dream of becoming a Pontin’s Bluecoat to a soundtrack of Steps, Spice Girls, Big Brother and Pop Idol, Gareth has been immersed in Hun culture for more than 20 years. After moving into corporate life, he spotted the resurgence of the iconic moments, characters and chaos that defined the noughties - from Gemma Collins and The X Factor to EastEnders - and saw an opportunity to bring them back into the mainstream.
Hunsnet was born.
Today, Gareth sits at the forefront of the Hun cultural phenomenon, turning nostalgia into highly relatable, modern-day entertainment. Hunsnet takes those iconic, instantly recognisable moments and reframes them through the lens of everyday life - creating content that feels both nostalgic and completely now.
With a dedicated community online and IRL, alongside an ever-growing celebrity fanbase including Lisa Scott Lee, Ruth Langsford, Rylan and Tina Barrett, Hunsnet has become more than a social platform. It’s a cultural community, a shared language and a celebration of everything that makes a Hun a Hun.
